I hope that where ever you are and what ever your circumstance that you are finding ways to have a little fun over your summer! Sure things are strange. You have to have a thought process before heading to a store, taking your kids to a play date or play ground and don't forget that mask before you head out for beer or two!

Though we are all about fun we sure have been busy here at Remix Productions! Matt has been working on custom orders, developing new products, working full time and working on the farm! I have been teaching summer courses, trying to keep my children from the summer slide, studying for an exam and running our farm and business!

I'm happy we were able to introduce our new naughty hot dog roasters. These silly roasters made me laugh when we made them and I loved embarrassing Wesley as I asked him to hold the roaster while I took pictures! They are made of 16 gauge stainless steel and telescoping handles for ease of use and storage! We hope to introduce other variations if these go well!

This summer we are all about finding ways to have fun that don't involve traveling, large crowds or expenses! I love having little campfires in the back yard, catching lightning bugs, swimming and squirt gun fights! We've adopted kitties, guinea pigs and chickens... we take each day as it comes! Too soon this weird summer will be over and we will all be back to school and work!

I hope this blog post, a long time in the making, finds you having fun and enjoying the little things wherever you are! Feel free to share your fun summer ideas!

Keep Cool!

Let me tell you a little bit about me. I grew up in the middle of nowhere in Upstate New York to the parents that struggled to run a successful small business. No matter what they worked hard and we never went without. I watched them struggle and always wanted to help. Flash forward to when I graduated high school and was ready to blaze my own path.

I attended Alfred University and took business and Management Information Systems courses. I was also drawn to art programs and really became more vested in my passion for film, theater and developed a real appreciation for the arts.

After college I held positions in health care, the judicial system, oil and gas, and manufacturing before going back to school for my MBA from SUNY Oswego. After completing this I was excited to accept an Assistant Professor of Accounting position with Alfred State College . What has stayed the same through all of these changes is my passion for the arts and helping small businesses succeed. I have enjoyed doing graphic and web design, film making and anything that allows me to fuse my two passions together.

We have re-imagined our company to include art in all mediums and we truly mean that. You have seen some of our wood carvings and cut outs, we've launched our CNC plasma table, some of you may have purchased our t-shirts or signs but what about

a logo? What about getting your website just right? I am branching out

ree

even further to offer graphic design as a service. My first logo was a contest over ten years ago for the Chapters Cafe located in our local Dorman Library in Bath, NY. Since then I have done a few businesses over the years including our own Remix material. I also just completed another logo for another production company (seen at right).

Do you need help creating something that catches the eye? Want some help getting all of your graphics taken care of? Need some help on the business side of things... I didn't get that MBA for nothing now!

We hope you are taking care of business during this chaotic time but also taking time to delve into your creative exploits no matter what they might be!

Be safe,

Holly

We've all heard of the familiar adage "If at first you don't succeed, try again." We often forget that as adults when something doesn't work the first time through. It is a euphemism we pass off onto our children when they are struggling. If a product doesn't sell, a process doesn't work, or the result wasn't what we hoped we throw in the towel and call it quits.

This has been a learning process for me since starting this venture. My first vision of Remix Productions didn't work out like I had imagined it would. I contemplated dissolving the venture since it had sat idle for so long and I have other career pursuits in mind. We decided, that though the original vision of the company and the direction had changed didn't mean we should give up. And we gave it another try.

I post products or update the websites and don't get the sales I had imagined. I post on Facebook or Instagram only for it to not reach people or get a reaction. Matt faces this as he tries to work on new products and build new equipment. Still we continue to push forward. Each of the experiences lending us knowledge about what works and what doesn't and how to continue to improve.

You may see products come and go as we pursue different ideas. You may see our approaches, sometimes bordering on orthodox, change over time. This is because we try different iterations to find out what works best for us. The important thing is that we don't give up and that we continue to pursue our goals. Each unsuccessful attempt

ree

building us up for eventual success.

The old adage has become a mantra of mine in the past few years. If I don't succeed I take stock in what wrong and try to improve and try it again. I am hoping that our children will see that even though we don't succeed on our first attempts that we continue to work hard so we can succeed. I believe children learn by examples. I no longer tell them to try again if they want to succeed they can watch their parents do just that.

Just keep going!

Cheers!

Holly
